Lisa Hackmann studied art history and modern German philology in Leipzig, Berlin and Paris. In 2020, she completed her dissertation on the transnational fame of the French history painter Paul Delaroche in the 19th century under the supervision of Bénédicte Savoy. From 2010 to 2015, she worked as a research assistant in the German-French research project ArtTransForm at the TU Berlin on the mobility of young painters between France and Germany (1793–1870). She is currently a project assistant at the German Lost Art Foundation (Magdeburg/Berlin). In her cultural-historical academic work, she is particularly interested in the mechanisms of the art market, the reconstruction of object histories, and the transnational entanglements of actors.
